Mark was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England UK. He left school with no good qualifications. However, he did have a desire for learning and in 1995 studied O’level art at Wakefield college. Having enjoyed this and gained some confidence, he then went onto study a B-tec National Diploma in fashion at Leeds College of Art & Design. Afterwards, he began pursuing a different career pathway by studying a degree in psychology and later a masters in Psychological Approaches to Health. Throughout his academic studies Mark still dabbled with art. In 2010 on his grans passing, she left him some money, and wanting to buy something in her memory he bought an oil painting from an artist called John Stannard. It was this meeting that inspired Mark to begin painting more seriously. His work has evolved over the years to where it is today. He considers himself to be a digital impressionist as he digitally modifies images and paints them in acrylic and oils onto hardboard or canvas.
